Job Overview
As an integral part of IT development team, the software system analyst engineer will play a pivotal role in propelling SHL’s operations to new heights. We are seeking an engineer specializing in both system analysis and proficient in programming to join the IT development team, contributing to the enhancement of SHL’s IT operations in all areas. The role involves utilizing all technologies ranging from SAP, full stack development, and integration platforms to implement a diverse solutions among a multitude of internal and external systems, contributing to the seamless connectivity and optimization of SHL’s IT landscape.
Main Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into clear, actionable system specifications. Evaluate alternative solutions and recommend optimal approaches. Identify requirement gaps, design inconsistencies, and potential data quality issues.
- Communicate effectively with business units and end-users to understand operational workflows, pain points, and improvement opportunities.
- Translate technical concepts into business terms (and vice versa) for effective cross-functional understanding.
- Collaborate closely with developers to ensure solutions meet functional and business requirements.
- Design and document system integration workflows for enterprise systems. Define interface requirements, data flow logic, transformation rules, and error handling.
- Participate in system implementation starting from planning, programming, testing, go-live execution, and post-launch support. Support data migration, user account setup, and configuration validation.
- Conduct regular reviews of existing IT systems and business processes. Identify opportunities for automation or digital transformation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information management, or other related fields.
- Proficient in system modeling using UML, DFD, and ERD. Able to design use case diagrams, sequence diagrams, and activity diagrams. Create data flow diagrams for cross-system communication and ERDs for logical data models.
- Proficient in development with technologies such as Java, .NET, JavaScript, or Python at an intermediate to advanced level.
- Knowledge of system integration using RESTful or SOAP-based APIs.
- Hands-on experience with at least one SDLC methodology (e.g., Waterfall, Agile, Scrum).
- Excellent in technical communications, brilliant in team-work environments, and comfortable working in cross-cultural environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Language
- Must have: Fluent in English both written and spoken for effective business communication
- Nice to have: Mandarin
