Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Metrology Engineer to join our team in Switzerland. The successful candidate will focus on technology transfer, method optimisation, and the integration of advanced metrology techniques into our local operations. This role involves close collaboration with the technical centre in Taiwan to ensure smooth transitions of new technologies and the continuous improvement of measurement methods, driving operational excellence.

 

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Technology Transfer: Lead and manage the transfer of new measurement technologies from Taiwan to Switzerland, ensuring all necessary processes and equipment are properly implemented.
  • Method Optimisation: Work on optimising existing metrology methods to improve accuracy, efficiency, and throughput in our measurement processes.
  • Technical Support: Provide hands-on technical support to local teams in Switzerland for troubleshooting, setup, and calibration of metrology equipment.
  • Collaboration with Taiwan Team: Regularly communicate and collaborate with the technical centre in Taiwan to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Supplier Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for local suppliers, ensuring timely delivery, support, and maintenance of measurement equipment and tools.
  • Training & Knowledge Sharing: Train local teams on new technologies and methods, facilitating knowledge transfer and best practices.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve measurement processes, tools, and methodologies, implementing changes to enhance overall productivity.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of technical processes, procedures, and transfer activities; report on progress and any challenges to the Taiwan technical centre.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field (preferably with a focus on metrology or measurement technologies).
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and international collaboration, ideally with experience in technology transfer processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with an ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits or training. (Once or twice per year)

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience in metrology or measurement technology, particularly in method development, transfer, or optimisation.
  • Strong knowledge of measurement systems (e.g., CMM, CT scanning, optical measurement systems).
  • Familiarity with quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO13485, ISO10360) and industry-specific best practices.
