Job Overview

The Senior Sourcing Specialist is responsible for identifying and evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost-effective procurement sourcing domestically for our Charleston Facility.  In this role, you will have the opportunity to drive supplier excellence, optimize costs, and lead strategic sourcing initiatives to support Global Supply Chain initiatives in a face paced and collaborative environment.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead supplier selection with a strong focus on Quality, Delivery, and Cost (QDC)
• Develop and implement cost-saving strategies to improve profitability
• Manage and optimize the supplier base for direct and consumables materials
• Actively participate in global sourcing initiatives
• Lead supplier negotiations and develop partnerships to achieve world-class performance
• Manage supplier KPIs and maintain supplier-related data in the ERP system.
• Support new product development (NPD) and the introduction of new items
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Quality, Planning, Finance, and Engineering) to ensure alignment with business goals
• Evaluate current and prospective suppliers through reviews, site visits, and audits.
• Conduct regular business reviews with key suppliers

Skills and Qualification

• Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain or related field
• Minimum 3-5 years in an Direct Sourcing or Buyer role in a highly regulated industry
• Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP
• Strong history of working in a fast-paced environment while abiding by processes and protocols
• APICS CPIM or CSCP Certification a plus
• Extremely organized and detail-oriented
• Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Must be very process-oriented and maintain a constant vigilance towards process improvement by proposing new methods and technological/automated solutions
• Demonstrated ability in developing effective long-term strategies to support business plans
• Proficiency in MS Office tools
• Problem solving and analytical skills
