Job Overview

As a Testing Intern, you will be part of the Testing team, supporting the design and execution of mechanical tests for medical devices. Your main responsibilities will include defining testing matrices, acquiring and analyzing data, interpreting results, and ensuring proper documentation in line with good practices. You will also contribute to the development of new test models required to ensure robust product designs. Additionally, you will support ongoing team activities and assist in building and maintaining the testing lab as needed.

The standard duration of this internship is 6 months, and we prioritize applicants who can commit to the full period. In some cases, flexibility for a shorter internship may be considered, especially if the right candidate is available to start promptly. The internship is intended to be full-time; however, part-time arrangements may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Main Responsibilities

  • Draft the definition of testing matrices and test setups based on design and performance requirements
  • Plan and execute mechanical tests on medical devices and components
  • Acquire, process, and analyze test data using statistical tools and engineering judgment
  • Interpret results and contribute to discussions on product performance and design improvements
  • Ensure thorough and accurate documentation in line with good documentation practices (GDP)
  • Present findings and progress to internal stakeholders in a clear and structured manner
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Take initiative and demonstrate a proactive, progress-driven mindset in daily tasks
  • Contribute to lab organization, maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives (as required)

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, mechatronics, or a related field, of recently graduated.
  • Open-minded, proactive, persistent, results- and execution-oriented, and able to work under pressure in changing environments
  • Interest in medical technology and product testing; Lab experience as part of the academic curriculum
  • Experience and ability to writing test plans/protocols/reports and other type of technical documents
  • Basic knowledge in statistical data analysis with tools such as Minitab (or any other statistical software)
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and documentation
  • Ability to work effectively with other departments in cross-functional projects and maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Fluent in English written and spoken

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • First experience in engineering and technical problem solving
  • Ability to present results in diverse audiences
  • This position requires work to be done in person and on site (Zug)
  • German and/or Mandarin an asset
