News Social Media 1200x630

SHL Medical has paired up with the CPhI Podcast series to present the “Leveraging data science for sustainable autoinjector development” podcast, featuring ESG Project Manager Veluska Bruce and Senior Manager of Data Science Frederick Gertz.

In this podcast, Dr. Bruce and Dr. Gertz talk about SHL’s sustainability strategy in the drug delivery industry, elaborating on the three pillars which serve as the foundation of the company’s program: product, people, and planet. Dr. Bruce shares some key initiatives the company has set up to balance innovation, technology, and ecological benefits.

Arguing that “a more efficient company inherently has a smaller footprint,” Dr. Gertz continues the discussion by highlighting how SHL’s data-driven approach to sustainability not only increases the company’s production efficiency and helps minimize negative impacts on the environment, but also contributes to optimized economic benefits for pharmaceutical companies.

The speakers conclude that early understanding of the connection between data, innovation, and the end-users’ needs is key for pharma companies to optimize new sustainable opportunities and commence their own data-driven initiatives.
