SHL Medical AG joins UN Global Compact for Sustainability

SHL Medical AG reinforces its commitment to sustainability and responsible corporate governance by officially joining the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). This partnership aligns with the company’s ambitious 2030 goals, emphasizing its dedication to upholding universal sustainability principles on human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption.

SHL Medical AG, a world-leading provider of advanced drug delivery solutions, proudly announces joining the UNGC, the world’s largest initiative promoting sustainability and responsible corporate governance. As a signatory to the UNGC and part of our commitment to sustainable and responsible business practices, SHL has embedded the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact into its corporate strategy and daily operations, embracing ethical, environmentally conscious, and socially responsible practices. This decision aligns with SHL Medical’s core values and its vision for a sustainable future.

Fortifying SHL Medical AG’s 2030 Sustainability Vision

As an innovation leader for the last 30 years, SHL has been driving patient’s health and independence. The company is expanding innovative autoinjector technology to new therapeutic areas, easing the strain on healthcare systems and benefiting patients, all while maintaining a commitment to sustainable and environmental stewardship. Prior to joining the UNGC, the company already contributed to the UN’s 17 Sustainability and Development Goals (SDGs). By concurrently aligning the sustainability strategy while actively engaging with the UNGC, SHL sharpened its focus on its key SDGs: good health and wellbeing, affordable and clean energy, decent work and economic growth, responsible consumption and production, and climate action.

“As part of our new Sustainability Strategy and 2030 objectives, we are dedicated to expanding our innovative device portfolio, significantly reducing our greenhouse gas emissions across the whole value chain, fostering circularity in our products, and fortifying our unwavering ethical and responsible foundation for the benefit of our employees, suppliers, and over 8 million patients.”. says Dora Rio, Global Head of Sustainability at SHL Medical AG.

Through the UNGC partnership, SHL Medical AG will be able to collaborate with a global network, collectively working towards ambitious goals that positively impact society, businesses, and the environment.

“By aligning with the UNGC, we join a larger mission that upholds the highest standards for the well-being of our patients, our people, and our planet”, adds SHL Medical AG CEO Ulrich Faessler.
