Job Overview
The IT Infrastructure & Services Engineer is a versatile role, responsible for delivering high-quality IT support services, maintaining reliable infrastructure, and contributing to the continuous improvement of IT systems. The position combines hands-on end-user support with backend systems and network administration tasks, ensuring seamless IT operations across the organization.
Main Responsibilities
- User Support & Service Desk Operations:
- Serve as the first point of contact for end-users, providing timely troubleshooting and resolution of hardware, software, and application issues.
- Manage incidents and service requests via ITSM systems in line with SLAs.
- Support onboarding, training, and guidance for users on IT best practices.
- Provide support for Windows clients, Microsoft 365, printers, mobile devices, meeting room technology, and collaboration tools.
- Infrastructure Operations & Administration:
- Install, configure, and maintain server and virtualization platforms (Windows Server, VMware vSphere).
- Administer domain services (Active Directory, Entra ID, Group Policies) and endpoint management via SCCM/Intune.
- Manage and monitor network infrastructure (Cisco switching, FortiGate firewalls, VPN, Wi-Fi).
- Ensure system availability, performance, and security through proactive monitoring and patching.
- Support disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Project & Vendor Coordination:
- Participate in IT projects such as network upgrades, server migrations, and security initiatives.
- Collaborate with global IT teams in Switzerland, Taiwan, Sweden, and the USA to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing.
- Engage with external vendors and service providers for implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Security & Compliance Support:
- Work closely with Information Security to ensure compliance with corporate security policies and standards.
- Support vulnerability management, endpoint protection, and secure configurations.
- Maintain accurate IT documentation (infrastructure diagrams, processes, troubleshooting guides).
- Asset & Knowledge Management:
- Perform IT asset management, including inventory tracking and lifecycle management.
- Maintain accurate documentation of IT processes, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
Skills and Qualification
- 3–5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and user support.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent IT-related education.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Microsoft Windows Server, AD, Entra ID
- VMware server virtualization
- Cisco networking (LAN/WAN, VLANs, switching)
- FortiGate firewalls and VPN
- Windows client environment
- Microsoft Endpoint Management (SCCM, Intune)
- Hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across server, network, and client layers.
- Customer-oriented mindset with strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and deliver in a dynamic environment.
