Job Overview

The Project Controller will act as a trusted Finance team member and is responsible for supporting the Global Finance Business Partner for Technology as well as the Project Management Team and Technology Department Head(s) as needed, by conducting monthly reporting and financial presentations, improving and maintaining systems and processes and executing quantitative and qualitative analysis.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly project reporting process by preparing and conducting management report deck presentations to key stakeholders
  • Build expertise on SAC Planning tool to further improve the system and implement new functionalities
  • Lead improvements on project cost planning process incl. CAPEX, life-cycle management & warranty treatment topics
  • Enhance business partnership with the Project Management Team and Technology Department Head(s) by supporting them with in-depth analyses
  • Lead quarterly outlook process (Sales, EBITDA, Cash Flow, KPI’s) with regards to projects and POC accounting
  • Support functional business leader(s) by executing quantitative and qualitative financial analysis to support key business decisions
  • Support yearly budgeting process
  • Monitor performance indicators, highlight trends, analyze variances and support gap closing measures
  • Provide solid data analysis to support ad-hoc reporting requests
  • Manage and support continued development of Budgeting, Financial Forecasting, Operating Plan and Modelling tools or other initiatives as requested by the business or Group Finance
  • If required, support due diligence activities
  • Support global “one team approach” at SHL FP&A and work closely with Team in TW, US, SWE regarding technical project management, accounting and reporting
  • S/he will be involved in the global Initiative “Finance Excellence @ SHL” and support on Corporate Initiatives whenever required.

 

Minimum requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience, ideally in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Experience working with manufacturing and technical development teams
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders
  • “Storytelling” skills, being able to translate financial data into a management presentation
  • Strong problem-solving skills, solution-oriented mindset and proficient computer and data analysis skills (Microsoft Office and ERP/BI systems)
  • Fluent in English both spoken and written.

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Knowledge in FP&A in Pharmaceutical / Biotech / Medical Device / FMCG or Management Consulting is a plus
  • Solid analytical skills with a high attention to detail
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and preferably with other data analysis tools such as Power BI, or SQL for complex data modeling and reporting.
  • Flexibility related to changing requirements and conditions while ensuring efficiency
  • Positive, “can-do” attitude, team player with strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong know-how of SAP S4, SAP PS, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), SAP BW or other BI systems
  • Fluent in German & Mandarin both spoken and written.
