Job Overview

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing sourcing strategies for direct materials—including resin, metal components, and packaging materials—to meet business needs in cost, quality, risk, and sustainability. This role supports supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, market analysis, and cross-functional projects to ensure reliable supply and cost competitiveness.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and select qualified suppliers for direct materials such as resin, metal, and packaging to ensure supply reliability and quality compliance.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with suppliers to drive performance, ensure on-time delivery, and resolve quality or service issues.
  • Lead cost negotiations, develop pricing strategies, and manage supplier agreements to achieve competitive pricing and protect company interests.
  • Conduct detailed cost breakdowns and benchmark pricing to support cost-saving initiatives, including re-sourcing and value engineering projects.
  • Work closely with internal teams to understand material needs, support product development, and solve supply issues.
  • Track commodity prices and market trends to anticipate cost impacts and proactively adjust sourcing strategies.
  • Maintain accurate supplier and material data in ERP systems and prepare reports for sourcing performance, pricing updates, and project tracking.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of sourcing experience in direct materials, including resin, metals, and packaging, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Solid understanding of production processes such as injection molding, metal stamping, and extrusion.
  • Proven skills in supplier sourcing, cost analysis, negotiation, and vendor management.
  • Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tiptop) and strong Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong communication abilities in both Chinese and English (verbal and written).
  • TOEIC score of 800 or above is required.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities, with a proactive and driven personality.
