Senior Project Accountant

We are looking for a highly motivated, hands-on and self-confident personality with independent working style and a solid level of resilience. In this role you will be a team member of the “Group Reporting & Accounting” department and reporting directly to the Accounting & Tax Senior Manager based in Zug/Switzerland.  

 

Main Responsibilities 

  • Provide accurate and timely recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information;  
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards Swiss GAAP FER and TP tax regulations, company policies, and with internal controls; 
  • Build up accounting data base for customer contracts, eg. in regard to asset ownership, handling of warranty, scarp, etc.; 
  • Proactive contribution during contract drafting or thorough review of legal contracts to provide necessary accounting guidance; 
  • Support the organization with guidance on correct processing of information and follow up on customer project billing;  
  • Perform analysis of accounting records to ensure accuracy and correctness;  
  • Act as single point of contact for project accounting questions in the global organization and close cooperation with the commercial and R&D colleagues of the organization;  
  • Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending accounting policies and procedures; 
  • Comply with GAAP requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions; 
  • Assess current accounting operations, offer recommendations for improvement; design and implement new processes; 
  • Team up with other team members and especially the FP&A team; 
  • Comfortable in handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties. 

  

 

Minimum requirements: 

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent education. 
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive, solid accounting expertise 
  • Proven track record of handling project accounting (PoC) 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard (Group) procedures 
  • Fluency in English
