SHL Medical promotes science education at 2025 NSTC Science Train
October 20 2025
SHL Medical is proud to take part in the Science Train Program for the fourth consecutive year, in collaboration with the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC). Through this initiative, we reaffirm our commitment to inspiring the next generation by developing and leading interactive activities that make science tangible and engaging.
From October 20–25, the Science Train will travel to 28 stations across 18 counties and cities in Taiwan, welcoming students from 30 elementary and junior high schools on board to explore hands-on scientific learning. Within SHL Medical’s designated carriage, our colleagues co-develop and lead activities that introduce students to the scientific principles behind drug delivery. This year’s activities focus on concepts such as fluid mechanics and elastic potential energy, showing how these principles appear in everyday life and how they are applied in SHL Medical’s advanced autoinjectors.
We collaborate with students from Yang Mei Senior High School, National Tainan Second Senior High School, and Pingtung Senior High School, who join us in leading the activities. During summer workshops hosted by SHL Medical, the students were trained to lead these activities and visited our Taoyuan-Liufu site for a behind-the-scenes look at our laboratories and manufacturing facilities. Our colleagues also shared insights into working in a global environment, offering them a glimpse into the industry’s future opportunities.
Sebastian Feng, General Manager of SHL Medical Taiwan, remarked, “As we enter our fourth year of participation in Science Train, we reaffirm our commitment to fostering scientific literacy while also raising awareness of the innovations driving advanced autoinjector manufacturing and the broader MedTech industry. This year, we extend special thanks to Professor Fu-Kwun Hwang from National Taiwan Normal University for his valuable guidance in shaping our activities.”
Students took part in SHL Medical’s hands-on activities exploring the science behind everyday life and our autoinjector technologies.
Our dedication to scientific outreach extends beyond the Science Train. SHL Medical recently announced our participation in KiSS Science 2025, where we introduce students to the convergence of science, engineering, and design in autoinjector development. We also maintain long-term partnerships with schools through our apprenticeship and university internship programs, providing students with industry knowledge and skills that prepare them for future careers in MedTech.
As the global leader in self-injection solutions, SHL Medical remains committed to advancing innovation while cultivating future innovators, fostering an environment where the MedTech industry can thrive and where we continue to develop solutions that enable patients’ independence worldwide.
