【DET】 Senior Mechanical Engineer

【Job Overview】
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer in our Development Emerging Technologies department (DET), you take ownership on the successful implementation of the mechanical design of future electro-mechanical medical device development programs.

The primary focus lies on the design and development and maturation of early concepts of electromechanical and IoT concepts for drug delivery and drug delivery data assistance systems. You will be part of multi-cultural project teams with electrical, software and system development experts which will work together with you to make the project a success in time, cost and quality.

【Main Responsibilities】
•  Plan, design and execution of device design tasks, such as concept generation, device architecture deployment, engineering requirement establishment, 3D/2D modeling, Design for Functionality/Manufacturability, performance analysis and risk-based design assessment planning, etc., to fulfill the product requirements.
• Develop draft assembly processes and building prototypes for verification test.
• Develop functional test protocol, testing and data evaluation, then improving designs as necessary to fulfill the product requirement.
• Identify and resolve or mitigate issues actively during the project development.
• Participate in or host design reviews for projects.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams for product manufacturing, advising them on design specifications and co-working on DFMA topics.

【Required Skills & Qualifications】
• Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar role for device design, preferably in active medical devices.
• Master’s in Mechanical Engineering and/or equivalent in experience and education.
• Experience in design toolkits/methodologies, such as 3D/2D modeling, Tolerance Analysis, Simulation (FEA) Analysis, Modulation design, Risk Analysis tools (FMEA, FTA), and Innovation methods (ex: TRIZ)
• Open-minded, initiative, constructive & positive thinking, persistent, results-oriented, and able to work under pressure in changing environments
• Fluent in English and Chinese language
• Team player and self-starter, able to perform with minimal supervision
