Sr. HVAC Technician

Job Overview

The primary responsibility of the Senior HVAC Technician is to perform maintenance and repair operations for medium-sized to large, complex, heating and cooling systems and associated control systems. The HVAC Tech will also oversee Chiller and Cooling Towers as well as Heating Hot Water Exchangers. The Master HVAC Service Technician is responsible for maintaining the quality of work at acceptable company standards, and for representing the company in a manner that ensures effective communication and a positive relationship with leadership and team.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Leads in troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of commercial air conditioning and multi-zone heating and cooling systems that incorporate pneumatic, digital, and central energy management system controls.
  • Manages and plans HVAC Contractor work in the ongoing preventative maintenance program.
  • Helps create preventive maintenance checklists for equipment.
  • Researches and selects materials for HVAC systems installation, repair, and maintenance.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

 

Skills and Qualification

  • Master’s License in HVAC With 7+ years in Industry as an HVAC Service Repair Technician preferably in a Plant environment or 10+ years of HVAC experience with graduation at an accredited Trade or College in HVAC Certification with experience in a Plant environment preferably. License or Certification is given first preference if in the state of South Carolina.
  • Possess an EPA-608 Universal certification upon their first date of employment
    Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of HVAC installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance
  • Skilled in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment
  • Detailed knowledge of HVAC systems that incorporate digital control systems computer-based Energy Management and Control Systems. (EMCS)
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, building materials, and emergency maintenance
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Ability to coordinate and perform multiple activities promptly.
  • Ability to maintain a sense of urgency and remain calm when handling emergencies.
  • Ability to deal diplomatically and effectively with staff and leadership.
  • Ability to work within precise standards of accuracy, make decisions based on measurable criteria, and comprehend technical data.
  • Ability to work a scheduled Monday- Friday shift. Be able to take on short notice assignments, emergencies, nights, weekends, and overtime (scheduled and unscheduled), as required/needed.
