Job Overview

 

The Materials Handler position is responsible for movement of material and operation of Material movement equipment in the building by performing the following duties.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Maintaining Process Driven movement with strict adherence to safety and process procedures.
  • Store materials as designated by Warehouse, Quality, and Operations.
  • Unload deliveries at Shipping & Receiving areas and perform a gross visual inspection of the material, proper temperature, and documentation. Review and fill out the proper documentation for receiving and coordinate delivery to the recipient or follow the material flow if intended for production.
  • Prepare materials for inbound and outbound transfers between the site, external warehouse (s) or other partners.
  • Perform system transactions necessary to accurately reflect actions, via handheld scanning and the EWM (ERP) system.
  • Label, package, identify, and count (from labels and documentation) received items.
  • Ensure that Warehouse and Refrigerators are neat, clean, and organized at all times.
  • Picking & Staging
  • Loading & Unloading racks & trucks
  • Put-Aways / Inventory Control
  • Cycle counts
  • Take a new direction and implement the new task or process.
  • Be proficient in all warehouse equipment use.
  • Ensure daily maintenance checks are complete.
  • Complete, organize, and file all necessary documentation following proper GDP (Good Documentation Practices)
  • Track Time out of Refrigeration and fill out other GMP documentation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; college degree preferred. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a degree or combination of training and experience may be acceptable.
  • Forklift Driving Experience
  • Material Movement equipment experience
  • Experience with wrapping equipment or other packaging machines and/or processes.
  • Knowledge of warehouse and inventory concepts in a distribution environment preferred.
  • Experience working in highly regulated industries such as Medical Devices, pharmaceuticals, Aerospace, etc.
  • Computer literate – MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, SAP, or an equivalent Warehouse Management ERP System.
  • Experience with temperature-controlled products is highly preferred
  • Ability to move equipment and/or supplies weighing up to 50 pounds within the facility using various body positions
  • Ability to be on feet for up to a 12-hour shift
  • Corrected vision to 20/30
  • Ability to work at elevated positions
  • Occasionally works around odorous and/or hazardous materials. May be required to wear latex gloves
  • Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection
  • (Ability to attain cleanroom gowning certification and work with hazardous materials, including saints)
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and prolonged working overhead
  • Ability to work the hours necessary to support a 24/7 continuous manufacturing operation
  • Available to work Monday- Friday, 1:00 PM- 9:30 PM, flex OT
