Disposable Autoinjector (DAI)

Launched in 2006, DAI helped define the modern autoinjector. It established SHL Medical as a market leader, earned the 2006 Taiwan Excellence Award, and continues to support therapies across multiple therapeutic areas today.

Precision Pen Injector (PPI)

Building on our legacy of innovation in drug delivery, the Precision Pen Injector (PPI) exemplifies our ability to tackle complex industry challenges. Featuring our patented Rotaject technology, designed to ensure the successful administration of even highly viscous formulations, it combines innovation with design excellence, an achievement recognized with the 2009 Red Dot Design Award.

Madie

Over the past 25 years, we have helped our pharma partners bring a variety of pen-based solutions to market, addressing the diverse needs of patients across multiple therapeutic indications. In 2015, our variable-dose pen solution was successfully launched for the treatment of growth hormone deficiency. Seven years later, a high-concentration format featuring an improved version with a built-in dial was introduced, further enhancing usability and patient convenience.

InsulCheck Connect and DOSE

SHL Medical has also explored connected solutions that enhance therapy management. This includes smart injector add-ons, co-developed with Innovation Zed, designed to seamlessly integrate with existing insulin pens, enabling patients to track injection timing and activity through a connected interface. Recognized for its thoughtful, user-centric design, one of these technologies received the 2021 Good Design Award, highlighting our commitment to advancing digital health in self-injection therapies.

Micro Dosing Device (MDD)

Beyond autoinjectors, SHL Medical has helped advance a range of injection device technologies, including precision microdosing solutions. As part of this vision, we pioneered a microdosing platform for intravitreal therapies and successfully commercialized it with Bayer.

Bertha

Developed ahead of the surge in large-volume subcutaneous injections, the Bertha autoinjector was a concept designed to deliver large-volume, higher-viscosity formulations, up to 60 centipoise, safely and reliably. This autoinjector features a familiar two-step operation and combines ergonomic design with intuitive feedback, giving patients confidence and control during self-administration.

Safelock

Designed to enhance the safe and ergonomic use of prefilled syringes, SHL Medical developed SafeLock, an automatic needle guard that prioritizes both patient and healthcare professional safety. This solution enables intuitive, one-handed operation and features a needle guard that automatically locks in place once the full dose has been delivered, reducing the risk of accidental needle sticks while providing a seamless user experience.

Commercialized cartridge-based autoinjector

Our innovative Needle Isolation Technology (NIT) was integrated into a cartridge-based autoinjector supporting the treatment of type 2 diabetes. The NIT autoinjector was selected as the Gold Winner of the 2019 Medical Design Excellence Awards (MDEA).

Molly Connected Cap

Designed to bring connected care to self‑injection, the Molly Connected Cap transforms the trusted Molly autoinjector into a smart, data‑enabled solution. This compact, retrofittable add‑on activates upon cap removal and records timestamped usage data, seamlessly transmitting insights to digital platforms without altering the familiar injection experience.

Elexy

Elexy exemplifies SHL Medical’s commitment to redefining what’s possible in drug delivery. A versatile, electromechanical autoinjector, Elexy aims to provide a best-in-class user experience while enabling the broadest range of delivery volumes.
